Upcoming Channel 4 presenter Russ Tanen will interview the artists as they come off stage and catch all the behind the scenes antics. Filmed in black and white, the shows are each fifteen minutes long.

As well as performing with all the bands on the tour, Hugh Cornwell helped to curate the first ever JD Set Tour. He says “I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the JD Set - the opportunity to perform with all these great new bands is truly inspiring.” ( Info on repeats…)

The JD Set began life in 2002 and have since established the reputation for delivering the buzz bands du jour. During its six-year history, The JD Set has played host to artists such as The Wombats, Foals, CSS, Kate Nash, Hot Club De Paris, Futureheads, and Foals. The JD Set celebrates Jack Daniel’s long-standing association and support of music, which goes way back to the man himself Jack Daniel. In 1892 he formed the Silver Cornet Band, a group of distillery workers and townsfolk.

You can view more audio, video and photography from the November JD Set Tour at www.thejdset.co.uk . Check the website for news announcements on the two forthcoming tours in March and May 2009.

Gym Class Heroes announce new single featuring Estelle

5:34 pm

Gym Class Heroes release ‘Guilty As Charged’, the second single to be taken from their acclaimed third album The Quilt, on December 8th through Decaydance/ Fueled By Ramen Records.

The album’s opener, ‘Guilty As Charged’ is a stomping, bass and brass-propelled anthem, bouncing with dancefloor energy and infused with the sweet vocal charms of UK soul sensation Estelle. A box-fresh hybrid of neo-gospel and hip-hop with a twist of Latino, ‘Guilty As Charged’ a fitting testimony to Gym Class Heroes’ perpetual ability to cross and blend genres with unparalleled skill.

If making killer tunes was a crime, then Gym Class Heroes and Estelle stand ‘guilty as charged’ - “I guess I’m guilty, ‘til proven innocent, And I’ll be gone before they know what I hit em’ with” sings Estelle on the bouncing chorus. “And the moment that we all feared,” Travis raps back – “Guilty on all charges for the dopest album of the year!”

Having just wrapped up a US co-headline tour with The Roots and Estelle, the band also played a string of rapturously-received UK dates in September, when Estelle joined the New York quartet onstage for a raise-the-roof rendition of ‘Guilty As Charged’. Already receiving solid radio support (C-list at Radio 1, and B-List at Capital and Galaxy), the video – a story-telling tribute to the Blaxploitation movies of the ‘70s - was shot in Las Vegas, and hits UK TV on November 24. Singer Travis McCoy has also maintained a healthy presence in the UK, presenting the Rock Out Award to 30 Seconds To Mars at this year’s MTV EMAs in Liverpool.

‘Guilty As Charged’ is taken from The Quilt, Gym Class Heroes’ first recording since 2006’s gold-selling As Cruel As School Children, which spawned such hits as ‘The Queen And I’, ‘Clothes Off’ and the incredible smash hit, ’Cupid’s Chokehold (Breakfast In America)’. It has always been Gym Class’ refreshing hybrid of styles that set them apart in an overcrowded scene, and the The Quilt has seen the band step up a creative gear or three – not only expanding on their unique blend of hip-hop, rock, soul and punk, but transcending it.

Gym Class Heroes are: Travis McCoy (lead vocalist), Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo (guitarist), Eric Roberts (bassist), and Matt McGinley (drummer).
